ABS refers to Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene copolymer, a thermoplastic polymer structural material with high strength, good toughness, and easy processing and molding. It is also known as ABS resin.
ABS
engineering plastic appears as opaque ivory-colored pellets, and its products can be dyed in various colors with high gloss. The relative density of ABS is approximately 1.05, and it has low water absorption. ABS has good bonding performance with other materials, making it easy to undergo surface printing, coating, and plating treatments.
ABS possesses excellent mechanical properties, particularly outstanding impact strength, allowing it to be used at extremely low temperatures. It also has good wear resistance, stable dimensional properties, and oil resistance, making it suitable for manufacturing bearings under medium load and rotational speed conditions.
The heat distortion temperature of ABS ranges from 93°C to 118°C, and this temperature can be increased by approximately 10°C after the product undergoes annealing treatment. ABS still exhibits a certain degree of toughness at -40°C and can be used within the temperature range of -40°C to 100°C.
ABS has good electrical insulation performance, which is hardly affected by temperature, humidity, and frequency. Thus, it can be used in most environments.
ABS is not affected by water, inorganic salts, alkalis, and many types of acids. However, it is soluble in ketones, aldehydes, and chlorinated hydrocarbons, and may experience stress cracking when eroded by glacial acetic acid, vegetable oil, etc. ABS has poor weather resistance and is prone to degradation under the action of ultraviolet (UV) light; its impact strength decreases by half after being used outdoors for half a year.
The largest application fields of ABS resin include automobiles, electronics and electrical appliances, building materials, and DIY (Do-It-Yourself) manufacturing.
- In the automotive field, it is used to produce numerous components such as automobile instrument panels, exterior body panels, interior trim panels, steering wheels, sound insulation panels, door locks, bumpers, and air ducts.
- In the electrical appliance field, it is widely applied in electronic and electrical products like refrigerators, televisions, washing machines, air conditioners, computers, and copiers.
- In the building materials field, ABS pipes, ABS sanitary ware, and ABS decorative panels are extensively used in the construction materials industry.
- In the DIY field, it is used for making items such as aircraft model wings.
In addition, ABS is also widely used in packaging, furniture, sports and entertainment products, as well as the machinery and instrumentation industries.
We realize the concept of "replacing steel with plastic" and provide customers with the most suitable lightweight customization solutions. Based on the specific properties of ABS plastic, as well as the product structure, production quantity, and product color, we design tailored customization plans. The mold processing time is 25-30 working days; samples will be available within 2 days after the mold is completed, and the delivery time is 7-15 days.
