An O-ring seal refers to a rubber ring with an "O"-shaped cross-section. It is the most widely used type in hydraulic and pneumatic transmission systems. Primarily designed for mechanical components to prevent leakage of liquid and gas media under static conditions, O-ring seals can also serve as dynamic sealing elements for axial reciprocating motion and low-speed rotational motion in certain scenarios. Featuring a simple structure, easy installation, cost-effectiveness, convenient maintenance, and diverse material options, they are suitable for sealing various fluids such as oil, water, and gases. Different materials can be selected to meet specific application requirements.

In terms of sealing principle, O-ring seals are a type of compression seal. The basic working principle of compression seals relies on the elastic deformation of the sealing element, which generates contact pressure on the sealing interface. If the contact pressure exceeds the internal pressure of the sealed medium, no leakage occurs; otherwise, leakage will happen.
