Characteristics of PTFE

1. High-Temperature Resistance – Operating temperature reaches up to 250°C.
2. Low-Temperature Resistance – Possesses good mechanical toughness; even when the temperature drops to -196°C, it can still maintain an elongation rate of 5%.
3. Corrosion Resistance – Shows inertness to most chemicals and solvents, and is resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, water, and various organic solvents.
4. Weather Resistance – Has the best aging life among plastics.
5. High Lubricity – Has the lowest friction coefficient among solid materials.
6. Non-Adhesiveness – Has the smallest surface tension among solid materials and does not adhere to any substances.
7. Non-Toxicity – Exhibits physiological inertness; when used as artificial blood vessels and organs for long-term implantation in the human body, it causes no adverse reactions.
8. Electrical Insulation – Can withstand a high voltage of 1500 volts.

Application Scope of PTFE

1. Electrical Industry

    

   In aerospace, aviation, electronics, instrumentation, computer, and other industries, it is used as an insulating layer for power supplies and signal lines, as well as corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant materials. It can be made into films, tubes, plates, rods, bearings, washers, valves, and chemical pipelines, pipe fittings, and linings for equipment containers.
2. Electrical Appliance, Chemical, Aerospace, Machinery, and Other Fields

    

   It replaces quartz glassware and is used in ultra-pure chemical analysis and storage of various acids, alkalis, and organic solvents in nuclear energy, medical, semiconductor, and other industries. It can be made into high-insulation electrical parts, high-frequency wire and cable sheaths, corrosion-resistant chemical vessels, low-temperature-resistant oil pipelines, artificial organs, etc. Additionally, it can be used as an additive in plastics, rubber, coatings, inks, lubricating oils, greases, and more.
