Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) is a new type of high-performance thermoplastic resin, boasting advantages such as high mechanical strength,
high-temperature resistance, chemical resistance, flame retardancy, good thermal stability, and excellent electrical properties. Its heat distortion temperature is generally over 260°C; its chemical resistance is second only to polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and its fluidity is second only to nylon. It is one of the
engineering plastics with the best heat resistance, and its modified varieties are expected to become the sixth-largest engineering material.
- Suitable for injection molding and precision processing of special engineering plastics, with no need for special processing equipment.
- Excellent flame retardancy: among plastics, it is classified as a high flame-retardant material compared with other plastics.
- Outstanding thermal performance: it can withstand 260°C for short periods and can be used continuously at 200-240°C.
- Good chemical corrosion resistance: its chemical stability is second only to PTFE, and it has excellent radiation resistance.

Pure PPS is rarely used due to its brittle performance; most PPS used in applications are its modified varieties.
Used in high-voltage components, housings, sockets, and terminal posts for televisions and computers; starter coils, blades, brush holders, and rotor insulation components for motors; contact switches, relays, electric irons, hair dryers, lamp holders, space heaters, and Class F films.
Applicable to exhaust gas recirculation valves, water pump impellers, carburetors, exhaust devices, exhaust control valves, light reflectors, bearings, and sensor components.
Used as bearings, pumps, valves, pistons, precision gears, as well as components for copiers, cameras, and computers; conduits, sprayers, fuel injectors, and instrument parts.
Used to manufacture acid and alkali resistant valves, pipelines, pipe fittings, gaskets, and
corrosion-resistant components such as submersible pumps or impellers.
