Characteristics of PTFE

1. High Temperature Resistance – Operating temperature can reach up to 250°C.
2. Low Temperature Resistance – Possesses good mechanical toughness; it can maintain 5% elongation even when the temperature drops to -196°C.
3. Corrosion Resistance – Inert to most chemicals and solvents; resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, water and various organic solvents.
4. Weather Resistance – Features the best aging resistance among all plastics.
5. High Lubricity – Has the lowest coefficient of friction among solid materials.
6. Non-adhesiveness – Exhibits the minimum surface tension among solid materials and does not adhere to any substances.
7. Non-toxicity – Physiologically inert; long-term implantation in the human body as artificial blood vessels and organs causes no adverse reactions.
8. Electrical Insulation – Can withstand a high voltage of 1,500 volts.

Application Scope of PTFE

1. Electrical Industry

    

   In aerospace, aviation, electronics, instrumentation, computers and other industries, it is used as insulation layers for power and signal lines, as well as corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant materials. It can be processed into films, tubes, sheets, rods, bearings, gaskets, valves, and linings for chemical pipes, pipe fittings and equipment containers.
2. Electrical, Chemical, Aerospace, Machinery and Other Fields

    

   It replaces quartz glassware for ultrapure chemical analysis and storage of various acids, alkalis and organic solvents in atomic energy, medical, semiconductor and other industries. It can be made into high-insulation electrical parts, high-frequency wire and cable sheaths, corrosion-resistant chemical vessels, low-temperature-resistant oil pipelines, artificial organs, etc. It also serves as an additive in plastics, rubbers, coatings, inks, lubricating oils, greases and other products.
