The collaboration of the three addresses the challenges in plastic part manufacturing
In the production chain of plastic parts, plastic engineering, injection mold design, and CNC mechanical parts are like an "iron triangle" — plastic engineering provides the material foundation, injection mold design builds the molding framework, and CNC mechanical parts ensure the upper limit of precision. The three are interlocking and indispensable.
Plastic engineering is the "cornerstone" of the entire manufacturing process. It not only studies the synthesis and performance of plastic materials but also focuses on key characteristics of different plastics (such as PP, PC, ABS) such as melt flowability, cooling shrinkage, and temperature resistance. These characteristics directly determine the direction of injection mold design: for example, for PP materials with high shrinkage, the mold needs to reserve dimensional compensation; for high-temperature resistant PC materials, the mold cavity needs to use wear-resistant steel. BOST is a professional injection mold company. Its design team first uses plastic engineering analysis software to simulate the molding process of different materials in the mold, avoiding problems such as part shrinkage marks and bubbles in advance, making the mold design more in line with material characteristics.
Injection mold design is the "key to molding" plastic parts. A qualified injection mold needs to include core structures such as cavities (determining part shape), cores (forming part holes), cooling water circuits (controlling cooling speed), and gates (guiding plastic inflow). During design, it is necessary to consider both the material requirements of plastic engineering and reserve precision space for subsequent CNC mechanical parts processing — for example, the surface roughness of the mold cavity needs to be controlled below Ra0.8 to reduce the workload of CNC secondary processing. BOST is a professional injection mold company. It can design modular molds for the needs of different industries such as home appliances and medical care: for example, for a home appliance shell mold, through replaceable cavity modules, combined with impact-resistant ABS materials selected by plastic engineering, it realizes the rapid switching of 3 shell styles. At the same time, the core components of the mold are processed by CNC to ensure the cavity precision reaches 0.01 mm.
CNC mechanical parts processing is the "last line of defense for precision". On the one hand, precision components such as the cavity and core of the injection mold need to be cut by CNC milling machines and lathes. Especially for complex curved structures, only the multi-axis linkage technology of CNC can ensure dimensional accuracy; on the other hand, some plastic parts after injection molding (such as plastic connectors with threads) need to be processed with threaded holes by CNC drilling machines and tapping machines to further improve assembly precision. BOST is a professional injection mold company, equipped with 15 high-precision CNC processing equipment, which can realize a one-stop service of "mold design — CNC processing — mold trial and debugging": for example, for the PC part mold designed for medical equipment, first determine the material's disinfection resistance through plastic engineering, then use CNC to process a smooth cavity, and finally perform CNC finishing on the molded parts to ensure the parts meet medical-grade precision standards.

FAQ
FAQs
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)? Do you support small-batch trial production?
The MOQ for standard products is ≥100kg. We support small-batch trial production (as low as 20kg) and provide mold testing reports and performance data feedback.
How do I select the appropriate engineering plastic grade for my product?
Selection should be based on parameters such as load conditions (e.g., pressure/friction), temperature range, medium contact (e.g., oil/acid), and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA/RoHS). Our engineers can provide free material selection consulting and sample testing.
Can Bost customize modified plastics with special properties?
Yes! We offer modification services such as reinforcement, flame retardancy, conductivity, wear resistance, and UV resistance, for example:
• Adding carbon fiber to enhance stiffness
• Reducing the coefficient of friction through PTFE modification
• Customizing food-grade or medical-grade certified materials
What are the core advantages of Bost engineering plastics compared to ordinary plastics?
Bost engineering plastics feature ultra-high mechanical strength, high-temperature resistance (-50°C to 300°C), chemical corrosion resistance, and wear resistance. Compared to ordinary plastics, their service life is extended by 3 to 8 times, making them suitable for replacing metals in harsh environments.
What is the delivery lead time? Do you offer global logistics?
Standard products: 5–15 working days; custom modifications: 2–4 weeks. We support global air/sea freight and provide export customs clearance documents (including REACH/UL certifications).
